Literature Text
I once shone so brightly, standing on the coast. I once stood against the storm to guide good sailors home. I once stood in sun and rain, through storms and worse. I once stood proudly against the blue sky, against the stars and the moon; yes once I stood, but now I crumble as time marches on. I stand in ruin my bravery long forgotten. The storm still roll but they take their toll now, just as the sailors sail but no longer need my light. I once shone so brightly, but now I lie in ruins forgotten against the blue sky and the night sky, sinking evermore as the storms roll in and winter winds howls. Soon nothing will remain, but for those who sailed while my light shone bright, their lives I saved once upon a stormy night.

As your knees suddenly give way and you begin to crumble to the ground, Dwalin surges forward instinctively, catching you in his powerful arms and pulling you to rest upon his fur-lined chest. “Easy, easy, lass! I’ve got you.”

death (fili x reader)
WARNING: spoilers for BOFTA ahead! and also, death… just in case you couldn’t tell from the title.
Move. Faster. FASTER. Everything’s a blur. Your legs are about to give way but you won’t let them. There’s only one thing on your mind. You have to find them. You have to save them. Save him.
Stop. Footsteps. Creeping up towards a stone wall of the watchtower, you heave your back against it before turning your head to take a quick glance around the edge. Thank the Valar. Thorin Oakenshield is still alive. You rest your head on the wall and let out a long, overdue breath of frozen air. Your heart is pounding into y
