Why does the government think standardized testing works? I’ll tell you right now it doesn’t. It wastes my time as a student to spend a couple days staring at a testing booklet and filling in answer bubbles. I didn’t learn anything, I didn’t do well, and I had to do it almost every year I went to school. So why does the government think it works? The teachers teach to the tests, they waste my time with pointless formulas I never remember when it comes to taking the test. Why do funds require better scores? It sucks for students and teachers alike.

nightmares (dwalin x reader)
“Dwalin…” your voice croaks out weakly from behind him.
He whirls around in a flash, one ax held high at the ready. Eyes flitting about for any signs of contiguous danger, they widen in uncharacteristic fear when the warrior finally catches sight of the blood on your tunic, oozing relentlessly through your fingers, which clutch tightly at the wound in your stomach.
As your knees suddenly give way and you begin to crumble to the ground, Dwalin surges forward instinctively, catching you in his powerful arms and pulling you to rest upon his fur-lined chest. “Easy, easy, lass! I’ve got you.”

The Heart of The Mountain
A Thorin x Reader Fanfic
This was another amazing idea suggested to me by Revolutionary-Angel!!
For the entirety of the journey Thorin had questioned not only Gandalf but himself over allowing you, a human female to accompany he and the rest of the company. Though you may not see it now you soon will.” Thorin would always sigh and shake his head when Gandalf would say this. Despite this fact, y

death (fili x reader)
WARNING: spoilers for BOFTA ahead! and also, death… just in case you couldn’t tell from the title.
Move. Faster. FASTER. Everything’s a blur. Your legs are about to give way but you won’t let them. There’s only one thing on your mind. You have to find them. You have to save them. Save him.
Stop. Footsteps. Creeping up towards a stone wall of the watchtower, you heave your back against it before turning your head to take a quick glance around the edge. Thank the Valar. Thorin Oakenshield is still alive. You rest your head on the wall and let out a long, overdue breath of frozen air. Your heart is pounding into y

I have always hated standardized testing. All it really does is limit the ability to learn.
Students spend more time being taught to regurgitate material that will be on the test and aren't given real challenges and exciting scenarios to help them really enjoy school. In fact, they are rarely given the chance to enjoy learning at all!
School used to be fun. Looking at the schoolwork that belongs to children of my friends, I always wonder: where did the fun go?
